Throughout the school year, we hold small groups with various students to help them develop and practice skills. These small groups provide an opportunity for students to develop, improve, and practice important social/emotional skills that will help them in their relationships with others. Most children enjoy group because it gives them a chance to interact with other students and adults in a more personalized setting.
Groups usually consist of 4-6 students from the same grade level (or two grade levels close in age). Most groups meet during students' lunch time or at a time that teachers have chosen that will have the least impact on their academic learning. Groups normally meet for 30 minutes a week for 6-8 weeks. Parents are always notified about the groups and given the option to opt their child out of the group. If you think your child would benefit from a small group, please contact us. |
